Alec Baldwin Stars in Mariska Hargitay's 'SVU' Directorial Debut Tonight

Tonight’s episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit not only features guest star Alec Baldwin, of Amagansett, it is the directorial debut of East Hampton’s Mariska Hargitay.
Baldwin plays Jimmy MacArthur, a renowned columnist for the fictional New York Ledger. MacArthur is given full access to Sgt. Olivia Benson (Hargitay) and the SVU squad for an insider’s look into the Special Victims Unit. When a rape case involving a Muslin victim escalates to a hate crime investigation, MacArthur—who is one step ahead of the SVU—declares the crime a hoax.
Also guest starring is the episode is Katie Couric, of East Hampton, as herself.
The episode airs March 19 at 9 p.m. Eastern on NBC.
