Hamptons Take 2 Film Festival Presents 'The Loving Story'

The Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival returned to Bay Street Theatre with a compelling film, “The Loving Story,” by filmmaker Nancy Buirski. Winner of the 2013 Peabody Award, the film recounts the story of Mildred and Richard Loving, an interracial couple that married in Washington, D.C., in 1958. Shortly after re-entering their hometown in Virginia, the pair was arrested in their bedroom and banished from the state for 25 years. Loving v. Virginia overturned bans on interracial marriage in 16 states. A Q&A followed the screening. The 2013 Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival will take place December 6-8 at Bay Street Theatre.
