50 Things to Do Before Memorial Day: Shop the Clearance Sales
There are fewer than 40 days until Memorial Day weekend, and while we at Dan’s Papers can’t wait, we also know there are many things we have to squeeze in during the next few weeks on the East End, lest we lose our chance with all that summer brings. We know that if we don’t get out and do these now, we’ll have to wait until after Labor Day before we try again…and so will you!
We continue our countdown of things to do before Memorial Day weekend on the East End with #38: Shop the Clearance Sales
While summer may be on your mind, many shopkeepers are still dealing with the last vestiges of winter—their cold-weather stock.
Gloves, knitted hats, heavy coats and more are now on sale, as stores want to clear the shelves to make way for summer apparel.
And don’t forget hardware stores, which are replacing snow shovels with gardening tools.
Visit local business districts and peruse the racks on the sidewalks or pop your head into the year-round retail stores to find the best deals of the year. Sure, you don’t need a wool scarf at the moment, but when next winter comes around you’ll be glad you have it and even more glad that you saved so much money.
Come back tomorrow for 50 Things to Do Before Memorial Day in the Hamptons #37.
