During the eighth season premiere of How I Met Your Mother, protagonist Ted Mosby shared a bench at the Farhampton train stop with a woman clearly carrying an issue of Dan’s Papers, and last night on the ninth and last season finale she made her triumphant return.

It was revealed in 2012 that Ted would meet the titular Mother on that train platform. Last night, he finally did. But he may have missed her entirely if not for an eagle-eyed Dan’s Papers reader pointing her out.

While in 2012 the cover of Dan’s Papers got some screen time, last night the paper was folded open to an article the woman was reading. A casual observer might not recognize it, but it was definitely Dan’s in her hands, the July 20, 2012 issue.
