Bishops Pond Developers Honored
Father-son duo Michael and Steven Dubb of The Beechwood Organization were honored with two 2014 Real Estate & Development Awards from Long Island Business News last month at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
The Jericho-based company won Residential Developer of the Year and Top Residential Development for the Bishops Pond townhouse development in Southampton Village.
The annual award recipients are selected by the editorial staff of Long Island Business News based on local economic impact of various commercial and residential projects.
Within their first six months on the market, 55 of the Bishops Pond homes, 80% of the residences available, sold. The record-setting speed of sales on the East End garnered LIBN‘s attention.
The luxury community boasts 77 single-level villas and single-family townhouses ranging in price from $839,000 to $3 million. Homes range from 2,000 to 3,000 square feet with three to five bedrooms each. Situated on 13 acres in Southampton, Bishops Pond includes a private clubhouse, fitness center, tennis court and pond-side pool for resident use.
Steven Dubb said Beechwood saw an opportunity to expand in Southampton, where the market for newly constructed homes is dwindling.
“We had the right idea, at the right time and in the right place for both our buyers and for us,” he said. “Bishops Pond was created with a vision of what today’s second homebuyer values most–quality construction and finishes with first-class amenities for a resort-lifestyle.”
The Beechwood Organization is one of the largest real estate developers in New York. Over the past 30 years, founder Michael Dubb, along with son Steven, built more than 60 communities totaling more than 6,000 homes in the New York area. In addition to the new Bishops Pond Southampton Village, Beechwood recently built in Harbour Point in the Bronx and is currently planning a 2,200 home oceanfront community in the Rockaways.
