Suffolk Bank Promotes James Whitehouse to Executive VP
Suffolk Bancorp, the parent of Suffolk County National Bank, has promoted James R. Whitehouse to executive vice president of the company.
Whitehouse is the current head of Suffolk County National Bank’s Residential, Multifamily and Mixed Use lending groups.
The company focuses on commercial banking, but Whitehouse’s leadership in his two years with Suffolk Bancorp has added mortgage and multifamily businesses.
President and CEO Howard Bluver said Whitehouse’s contributions complement the existing structure of the bank and have helped the company expand.
“We now have a more diversified product line with a much wider geographic reach than ever before,” he said.
He added praise for Whitehouse’s ability to build new business ventures for the bank under budget and ahead of schedule.
“While the current economic and interest rate environment presents unique challenges to the business that Jim is in charge of, there is no one better at navigating these issues and achieving positive results through all economic cycles,” Bluver said.
The Riverhead-based Suffolk County National Bank includes 25 branch offices throughout Long Island in both Nassau and Suffolk counties.
