B. Smith Opens Up About Alzheimer's
Restaurateur, designer and model B. Smith has come out publicly about an illness only her family and closest friends have known about until now.
Smith told CBS News that she suffers from Alzheimer’s, a degenerative disease of the brain that causes dementia.
The 64-year-old surprised many when she closed her popular restaurant B. Smith’s Sag Harbor on the Long Wharf after last season. This news seems to explain why.
In her interview with Dr. Jon LaPook—and husband Dan Gasby by her side—Smith struggled to remember the date. However, she remains optimistic that the future will be fine.
