Who pays the most property taxes in the Tri-State area? In you live in the Hamptons, you must be thinking, “Ira Rennert, duh!”
Rennert’s Sagaponack estate, called Fairfield, is said to be the largest single-family residence in all of the United States.
The market value is approximately $248 million. If he ever put it on the market, it would shatter records.
Even though Sagaponack has the lowest property tax rate in New York State, the size and location of Rennert’s estate still makes it the most taxed when counting dollars rather than percentage points.
According to CNBC, which crunched numbers from PropertyShark, the total bill comes in at $649,281 annually.
