Riverhead Costco to Open Thursday, June 26

In one week, the Costco wholesale store in Riverhead will open its doors.

The next nearest Costco is in Holbrook, so the new warehouse will cut down significantly on the shopping commute for members of Costco who live on the East End. There are no prerequisites for becoming a Costco member, though a base membership is $55 a year.

On Thursday, June 26, the store will open its doors to the public for the first time at 8 a.m. The warehouse is located at 1768 Old County Rd, Riverhead.

Hours going forward will be from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. amd Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This new Costco has something its counterpart in Holbrook lacks: a gas station. The store also has an optical department, an optometrist, a tire service center, a pharmacy, hearing aids, a food court and deli, meat and bakery department.
