Kelly Ripa Soaked on 'The Tonight Show'

Bridgehampton’s Kelly Ripa took part in a friendly competition with host Jimmy Fallon, of Sagaponack, on The Tonight Show Wednesday evening.

The pair participated in a “Pop Quiz” that raised the stakes on a classic trivia contest. Both wore large pointed hats while 4-gallon water balloons hovered above. Each time a contestant answered a question correctly, the opponent’s chair was raised closer to the balloons. Also, if a question was answered incorrectly, that contestant’s chair was raised.

Ripa and Fallon answered an array of pop culture based trivia questions, ranging in topics from The Brady Bunch to Kanye West to Ripa’s morning show co-host, Michael Strahan.

Ultimately, Fallon lost the contest, resulting in the giant water balloon soaking him. Despite Ripa’s victory, Tonight Show announcer Steve Higgins raised her chair, dousing her as well.
