Alan Alda, Candice Bergen to Star in A.R. Gurney’s 'Love Letters' on Broadway

Water Mill’s Alan Alda and East Hampton’s Candice Bergen will co-star in A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters on Broadway from November 8 to December 5.
Love Letters debuted on Broadway starring Colleen Dewhurst and Jason Robards in 1989. The two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III, are childhood friends who read a lifetime of letters they have exchanged between each other. The play was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and, now, it’s returning to Broadway with major movie stars.
In addition to Alda and Bergen, Love Letters will feature Brian Dennehy, Mia Farrow, Carol Burnett, Stacy Keach, Diana Rigg, Anjelica Huston and Martin Sheen throughout its run from September 13 to February 1 at the Nederlander Theater. The play is under the direction of Gregory Mosher.
Before you see Bergen on stage, catch her at a book signing at the East Hampton BookHampton on Saturday, August 9, at 5 p.m.
