Georgina Bloomberg and Son Jasper Enjoy The Hampton Classic on Friday
New mother and equine rescue advocate Georgina Bloomberg was out and about, enjoying the day with her baby son Jasper, at the 39th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show on Friday, August 29.
The daughter of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and an accomplished rider, Bloomberg competed and placed third in the Grand Prix at last year’s Hampton Classic while pregnant before stopping competition in order to have her child last December. She is also on the Board of the Hampton Classic and will compete in the 2014 Grand Prix on Sunday, August 31.
On Monday, Bloomberg and her pal and fellow animal advocate Jill Rappaport showed their support for the Classic’s ASPCA adoption day by taking a pie in their faces for Rappaport’s “Pies 4 Paws” challenge to raise money for animal welfare. Two days later, on Wednesday, August 27, Bloomberg and another animal advocate friend Amanda Hearst appeared at the Pet Philanthropy Circle’s 3rd Annual Pet Hero Awards Ceremony, where they gladly accepted an award for “Friends of Finn,” an anti puppy mill organization, founded by Hearst.
In spite of her recent foray into the world of motherhood, Bloomberg, 31, is still competing and has dreams of making the 2016 Olympic equestrian team.
