Southampton Bay Constable, Coast Guard Rescue 2 After Boat Overturns

After a boat was reported overturned near Ponquogue Bridge on Sunday, a Southampton Town bay constable and the U.S. Coast Guard plucked two people from the water.
Southampton Town police report that Southampton Town Bay Constable Danielle McManus responded to a VHF Channel 16 radio call at 1:55 p.m. and found the 12-foot fiberglass Gamefisher, with the two people who had been aboard floating in the water.
Guardsmen from Station Shinnecock were called in to assist in getting the boaters out of the water. The boaters were then brought to Station Shinnecock in Hampton Bays, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
