Things to Do with Kids at the 2014 Hampton Classic Horse Show
The Hampton Classic Horse Show, being held August 24 to 31, in Bridgehampton has top equestrian competition and hosts a variety of
activities sure to entertain every member of the family.
The Hamptons charm and family-friendly schedule make the Classic the ultimate stop for anyone looking to close their summer with an unforgettable experience.

“There is always an activity or event for anyone attending the Hampton Classic, and this year is no different,” said Shanette Barth Cohen, executive director of the Hampton Classic. “In addition to our world-class equestrian competition, we have a great selection of dining, shopping and family activities available. This is sure to be the best Classic yet!”
In addition to shopping at the Classic’s famed Boutique Garden and the gourmet food options scattered throughout the grounds and in the International Food Court, there’s lot of great fun in store for kids. The Long Island Livestock Co. will be in the Kids Area on Opening Day and Tuesday through Saturday with llamas, alpaca, sheep, goats and Pansy and Piggety pigs. Citarella will also be on hand providing cookies for
decorating on Opening Day.
The line-up of family and kids attractions and entertainment at this year’s Hampton Classic includes:
The Atlantic Opening Day, Sunday, August 24:
• Cookie decorating with Citarella
• Long Island Livestock Co. with an assortment of fun animals
• Church St. School providing crafts and music
Monday, August 25:
• 11:00 am–3:00pm – The Annual ASPCA Adoption Day will feature local dog, cat, and horse rescue
groups with animals available for adoption. The event will feature VIP hosts Jill Rappaport, NBC’s
award-winning animal advocate and bestselling author, along with ASPCA Equine Welfare Ambassador
Georgina Bloomberg. Participating rescue groups include: Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue, Ruff House Rescue, Animal Rescue
Fund of the Hamptons (ARF), Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, The Little Shelter in Huntington,
BeFreegle Foundation. Participating horse rescue groups include Project Sage Horse Rescue, Kaeli Kramer Foundation
Horse Rescue and Sanctuary, North Shore Horse Rescue, Rosemary Farm Sanctuary, Inc., and
the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Foundation. There will be a live, interactive program with
adoptable horses and horse rescue groups in the Anne Aspinall Ring from noon to 2 p.m.
Tuesday, August 26:
People who come to the horse show with three or more items to donate to the Sag Harbor Food Pantry will have their entire car-load admitted for free
