Alexa Ray Joel—the daughter of Sag Harbor Piano Man Billy Joel and Bridgehampton’s Christie Brinkley—is planning a return to Café Carlyle in Manhattan.
Joel, 28, performed at Café Carlyle for short engagements in both April and June this year, and now she is getting ready for a six-month residency there in 2015.
The songstress told Billboard she considers her sound “Fiona Apple meets Rufus Wainwright” but also says she doesn’t feel like she has to stick to one musical niche.
Of late, Café Carlyle has booked acts such as Woody Allen & The Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band, Molly Ringwald, Rita Wilson, Jon Hendricks and John Pizzarelli.
