Jared Angle, Principal Dancer of NYC Ballet, Joins Dans'ing Saturday in Southampton
A very special guest instructor is joining Dans’ing on Saturday, September 27—New York City Ballet principal male dancer Jared Angle, one of the top ballet performers worldwide.
Dans’ing includes lessons in Latin, Hip-Hop and Swing between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. at Southampton Arts Center, followed by a dance party there with Jim Turner and band at 7 p.m. Angle will introduce classes and even teach.
Angle was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where he began his early dance training at 6 years old at the Allegheny Ballet Academy. He entered the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, in the fall of 1996. Angle became an apprentice with New York City Ballet in March 1998 and joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet in July 1998. He was promoted to the rank of soloist in February 2001. In 2005, Angle was promoted to principal dancer following a performance during a company visit to Denmark for the reopening of the Tivoli Concert Hall.
Dans’ing benefits Dancing Dreams, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that enables girls with physical and medical challenges to live their dreams by dancing ballet.
Reservations are required for all classes and the evening dance event. The cost is $25 per class and admission to the 7 p.m. dance is $25. Email dansevents@danspapers.com to secure your spot.
