John Boehner Coming to Bridgehampton to Fundraise for Lee Zeldin
Speaker of the House John Boehner is coming to Bridgehampton on September 20 to help fundraise for Lee Zeldin, the Republican challenger hoping to unseat Democratic Congressman Tim Bishop.
The $500-per-person fundraiser will take place at Sandcastle, the Halsey Lane residence of Hamptons builder Joe Farrell and wife Kristen Farrell.
Among the co-chairs of the event are New York State Republican Party Chairman Ed Cox, past New York City mayoral candidate John Catismatidis and Randy Altschuler, who ran against Bishop for Congress in both 2010 and 2012.
Zeldin, of Shirley, is a second-term New York State senator. He unsuccessfully challenged Bishop in 2008.
Bishop, of Southampton, is currently serving his sixth term in Congress.
Politico says the First Congressional District race “leans Democratic.”
