Lenz Winery Hosts 25th Annual Merlot World Classic
Lenz Winery in Peconic is hosting its 25th Annual Merlot World Classic this Saturday, September 13 from 5:30–8 p.m.
For more than two decades, Lenz has gathered a selection of some of the world’s finest merlots for all to taste and experience at their Merlot Classic. The winery notes that it wants wine fans to enjoy “the myriad of flavors and styles this classic rich red wine has to offer.”
Those who attend are invited to taste wines from every major region of the world, along with some smaller and lesser-known regions. A selection of East End wines, including and Wolffer from Sagaponack, Paumanok from Aquebogue and Mattebella from Southold, will be poured alongside more distant vintages. A selection of artisanal cheese will also be served.
Lenz is a relatively small winery, but boasts wines made to exacting standards. All their wines are estate bottled—made from grapes grown entirely at Lenz—and they seek to compete with classic wine regions around the world.
Admission to the event is just $25 per person for Lenz subscribers, and $50 per person for the general public. To purchase tickets, call 631-734-6010 or email office@lenzwine.com.
