Puppy Shot Dead in Mattituck; $1,000 Reward Offered
The Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for killing and dumping a puppy in Mattituck
Suffolk SPCA Chief Roy Gross said that the agency was contacted with a report that someone had dumped the puppy in a plastic bag on a trail at Laurel Lake Preserve.
Gross said that further examination revealed that the puppy had been shot several times and still had pellets lodged in its body
“This is a blatant act of animal cruelty and we will do everything we can to see that those responsible are apprehended,” Gross said.
Anyone with information can contact the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential, the SCPA stated.
