Westbound LIE Lanes to Be Closed in Riverhead

Tuesday night and then again Thursday, two of three westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Riverhead will be closed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for bridge repairs.
The lane closures will be in place from Exit 71 (Edwards Avenue) and Exit 70 (Daniel Hole Road). The New York State Department of Transportation encourages motorists to use alternate routes.
The lane closures enable major repairs to the Halsey Manor Road Bridge, which was recently hit by a truck.
Weather may postpone the roadwork.
