Kristen Stewart Sips Montauk Brewing's Driftwood Ale on Film
Actress Kristen Stewart holds a can of Montauk Brewing Company’s Driftwood Ale in a still of the soon-to-be released film Still Alice.
The movie, which anchored the Hamptons International Film Festival this October, also stars East Enders Julianne Moore and Alec Baldwin. The film tells the story of Alice Howland (Moore), a renowned linguistics professor at Columbia who starts to forget words. Upon receiving her diagnosis, her family—a husband (Baldwin) and three grown children—must navigate this difficult time, as their bonds are tested. Stewart plays one of Moore’s children.
Set in New York, filming took place at locations around the Metropolitan area—including Manhattan, the Bronx, Lido Beach and Dobbs Ferry—but Still Alice did not shoot in the Hamptons. Perhaps Moore or Baldwin brought the local brew to set?
Already getting Oscar buzz, Still Alice premiered to positive reviews at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, and it’s slated for wide release on January 16, 2015. Moore is said to be a frontrunner for the Best Actress Academy Award for her role.
Montauk Brewing Company released Driftwood Ale and Summer Ale in cans earlier this year. Though the Summer Ale ran dry by the time the weather turned, Driftwood Ale is still available across the East End.
