Arrest in Grocery Store Wallet Theft

Donna R. Hobson, 49, of Riverhead, was arrested Wednesday on charges of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, following an investigation into the theft of a wallet at a Wading River grocery store.

According to Riverhead police, on November 1, 2014, a woman took a wallet belonging to another customer at King Kullen, after the wallet was left behind on the register. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers issued an alert that included a still frame from surveillance footage of the suspect.

Hobson posted $200 bail and is due in court on January 26, 2015.
