Donny Deutsch to Star in Semi-Scripted Comedy for USA

Chairman of ad agency Deutsch Inc. and Hamptons homeowner Donny Deutsch has signed on to star in a new comedy series on the USA Network.

While appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Friday, Deutsch said the show is semi-scripted, and he plays a fictionalized version of himself, much like Larry David‘s Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski revealed that she appears in the pilot episode. USA has now ordered a season of the series, which will center on Deutsch as a daytime television host who, in his private life, does the opposite of what he espouses.

The new show is tentatively titled Donny!
