Southampton Police Seek Info on School Bomb Threat
Southampton Village police are asking the public to help determine who was responsible for a bomb threat against Southampton High School on Thursday.
Police said they received a 911 call from the school at 11:34 a.m. reporting that someone had called and threatened to drive a box truck into the building to blow it up.
Officers secured the building and closed off Narrow Lane to traffic. Students were dismissed at 2:07 p.m.
Anyone with any information or knowledge of this incident is urged to call 631-283-0056. Police said all calls will be kept confidential.
The threat came during the same week that bomb threats were made against Riverhead High School and McGann-Mercy High School in Riverhead.
