Where to Go Sledding in the Hamptons
A number of Hamptons school districts have announced they will be closed Wednesday as the East End continues to dig out of the Blizzard of 2015, also known as Winter Storm Juno, and that means one thing: SLEDDING!
Knowing where to go sledding on the East End is something akin to folklore, valued information passed from generation to generation. Our readers rave about such spots as Reeves Beach in Riverhead, but find even more joy in the wonderful irony for young and old alike of going to school on a snow day.
Take your Radio Flyer, toboggan, tube or saucer and head to East Quogue Elementary and Westhampton Beach Elementary School. In Sag Harbor, Pierson High School has a famed sledding hill.
SYS Rec Center on Majors Path in North Sea has excellent sledding.
On the North Fork, the spot across the street from Mattituck High School is a popular sledding destination.
However you enjoy the snow, be sure to use the hashtag #danspapers when you share your photos on Twitter and Instagram.
