Cops Say Man Used Counterfeit $100 Bills at Riverhead Walgreens
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used counterfeit money at a store in Riverhead last month.
A man entered Walgreens, located at 1196 Old Country Road, and purchased a $500 gift card using five counterfeit $100 bills on January 16, 2015, at approximately 6:20 p.m., police said.
The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall with a beard. He was wearing a red jacket and jeans.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
