March of the Leprechauns Bestows $12,000 on Local Charities
The inaugural March of the Leprechauns, a St. Patrick’s Day-themed pub crawl, brought 1,200 revelers to Riverhead on March 7 and raised $12,000 in the process.
Organizers split the proceeds evenly between two East End nonprofits, Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach, which provides a warm place to sleep for homeless people, and the East End Emerald Society, which puts on the Jamesport St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
