Dan's Literary Prize Adds Judges' Choice Awards
Dan’s Papers is pleased to announce that this year’s Dan’s Papers Literary Prize awards ceremony at the John Drew Theater on September 3 will include for the first time three brand new Judges’ Choice Awards. These will be presented to three entrants in the Dan’s Papers Literary Prize competitions who have not won First Place or Runner Up awards, but have nevertheless been deemed by the judges to be of considerable merit. “In the past three years, judges have each had personal favorite essays that didn’t win because others didn’t agree. This year, we are instituting three Judges’ Choice awards per category to recognize these individual favorites,” says Dan Rattiner, founder, president and editor-in-chief of Dan’s Papers.
The independent panel of judges includes the chairman of a major publishing house, the chairman of an ad agency, a retired bookstore owner, a college English professor and a major author.
