SCNB CFO Brian Finneran Wins SmartCEO Executive Management Award

Brian K. Finneran, the executive vice president and CFO of Suffolk Bancorp and its wholly owned subsidiary Suffolk County National Bank (SCNB) was recently awarded a 2015 SmartCEO Executive Management Award in the CFO category.
Finneran was one of 13 CFOs to receive Executive Management Awards among 40 C-Level executives who were selected from a field of more than 100 nominees.
Finneran was recognized for his contribution to the success and growth of SCNB, for his professional leadership as part of a new management team, and for his role in developing and executing, in partnership with SCNB CEO Howard C. Bluver, the effective strategies required for the company’s financial performance. As a result, among other accomplishments, Suffolk Bancorp was named one of the Sandler O’Neill + Partners Sm-All Stars Class of 2014, a designation of 35 top performing small-cap banks and thrifts in the U.S., based on various financial screening criteria, including growth, profitability, credit quality and capital strength.

Finneran has earned a reputation in the banking industry for honesty and ethical behavior. He has built strong relationships with his co-workers as well as the company’s professional partners. For the past 18 years, Finneran has served as CFO of public companies, including his current position at SCNB, which he has held since February 2012, and previously as CFO of State Bank of Long Island.
Finneran is certified as a risk professional from the Bank Administration Institute, and holds an MBA in Finance, graduating with distinction from Pace University Lubin School of Business, and a BBA in Finance, graduating cum laude from City University of New York Baruch College. Finneran currently serves as a mentor in the Baruch College Executives on Campus Mentoring Program, and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, Financial Managers Society, and the Institute of Management Accountants.
