The Beacon in Sag Harbor Reopens for 2015
The Beacon, a waterfront restaurant overlooking Sag Harbor Cove, is now open for the season Wednesdays through Mondays.
Dinner service begins at 6 p.m. with executive chef Sam McCleland, who has designed a number of new seasonal dishes to complement Beacon staples.
“Beacon Style” steamed mussels with garlic, white wine, lemon-thyme, cream and tomatoes return to the menu, plus crispy fish tacos with salsa verde, jack cheese and tomato emulsion; lobster rigatoni with aged cheddar, roasted corn, basil and cream; and an oven-roasted chicken with braised shallots, julienne carrots and smoked bacon-pecorino risotto.
In addition to the food, The Beacon is a popular destination because of its spectacular sunset and marina views, with a second-story deck.
Hamptons restauratuer David Loewenberg owns The Beacon as well as Bell & Anchor in Sag Harbor and Fresno in East Hampton.
