East End Mermaid classes, which combine yoga and live music, began this spring at new studio Well Within in East Hampton, and they’ll also be held at Swallow East in Montauk and Lisa’s Lovely Organics in East Hampton this summer. Yoga instructor Jenna Raynell and musician Joe Van Asco play off of each other during the classes, allowing collaborations to happen organically. Raynell reads off of the energy of the room, adjusting her instructions accordingly, and Van Asco follows suit with the music. The tunes typically follow a mellow soundtrack, blending into the sounds of nature and the soothing feeling of yoga. Follow @EastEndMermaid on Instagram for announcements of pop-up classes!
