Amy Zerner's Fashion Sense: Spice It Up
Spicy, burnished colors are dazzling for summer. Shades of turmeric, nutmeg, ginger, burnt orange and dusky sienna echoing the sunset can be minimalistic while being warm at the same time.
Think of Eastern-influenced shapes for inspiration—exotic spice markets and burnished silk spun fabrics with delicate beading and embroideries.
Spice-colored dresses, tops, tunics, makeup, jewelry and accessories can light up your wardrobe this season and give your skin a healthy glow. They are energizing, non-jarring takes on oranges, corals and sun-tanned neutrals that add a comforting warm layer of color for spring and summer.
Whether it’s a color-blocked silk caftan, a beautiful shoe or long skirt, there are many ways to spice up your look.
Try pairing pumpkin spice with a cornflower blue accessory or jacket. Those two colors work great together. All this warmth calls for a cooling counterpoint. Also teal, maybe a nice sky blue, or just classic black and white. it would even work with the right shade of brown or moss green.
