Children’s Museum of the East End to Host Artist Peter Tunney
On Saturday, August 1, the Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE) will host an art reception for the world-renowned multimedia artist Peter Tunney.
The reception will include a chance to meet Tunney and view his traveling art installment Dictionary Daze. The reception will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the museum, and is open to both children and adults.
The exhibit consists of 26 silkscreened collages—one for each letter of the alphabet—inspired by illustrations found in the 1927 edition of Webster’s International Dictionary. The first half of the exhibit has been on display at the museum since Memorial Day, and the second half will remain up through Labor Day. In addition to meeting Tunney and learning more about Dictionary Daze, those in attendance will have the opportunity to create a T-shirt inspired by the exhibit.
The event is free to attend, and guests are encouraged to R.S.V.P. by emailing liz@cmee.org. CMEE is located at 376 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton.
