Geoffrey Zakarian Stirs the Pot with Florence Fabricant Sunday
Geoffrey Zakarian, the chef, author, restaurateur, television personality and host of Dan’s Harvest East End, will make an appearance at Guild Hall this weekend on Sunday, August 2, at 11 a.m. for the Stirring the Pot culinary celebrities conversation series.
Taking place in Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater, the event will be hosted by Florence Fabricant, an acclaimed food writer and contributor to The New York Times. Fabricant will lead an interview with Zakarian that will delve into the details of the chef’s career. A 10 a.m. pre-talk is planned for a special meet and greet with Zakarian. Attendees will be treated to a continental breakfast compliments of c/o The Maidstone and the Living Room Restaurant.
Zakarian started his culinary career at Le Cirque, where he landed his first job in a professional kitchen. He became Executive chef of Patroon in 1997. In 2001, Zakarian commenced with the opening of his first restaurant Town.
The New York Times awarded the two restaurant, Patroon and Town, with Three Stars.
Zakarian continued his career with Country. The restaurant received a Michelin Star during its debut year and was awarded Three Stars from The New York Times.
The chef agreed to conceptualize and manage the whole food and beverage program at The Water Club at Borgata in Atlantic City in 2007.
Other restaurants by Zakarian include The Lambs Club located at The Chatwal Hotel, the Tudor House at Dream South Beach and The National located at The Benjamin Hotel.
Also a cookbook author, Zakarian has had several publications including Geoffrey Zakarian’s Town / Country and My Perfect Pantry.
In addition to co-hosting Food Network’s The Kitchen, Zakarian is a judge on Chopped, and title of Iron Chef after he won the fourth season of The Next Iron Chef.
Recently featured on Iron Chef America, The Best Thing I Ever Ate and The Best Thing I Ever Made, as well as a judge on the fifth season of The Next Iron Chef, Zakarian has been active in the development of his presence in the culinary world.
