Amy Schumer Dishes with Jon Stewart About Hamptons Vacay with Jennifer Lawrence
Native Long Islander Amy Schumer, the stand-up comic and star of Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central told North Haven’s Jon Stewart all about her recent trip to the Hamptons with Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence during Monday night’s Daily Show.
Schumer was Stewart’s fourth to last guest before he retires from The Daily Show. The interview took place just hours after she and cousin Senator Chuck Schumer held a press conference on gun control in response to the mass shooting in Lafayette at a movie theater screening Schumer’s new film Trainwreck.
Praising her work in Trainwreck, Stewart tells Schumer she was right to turn down an offer to replace him as the anchor of The Daily Show and he point out that she is quite a successful jetsetter, spotted partying with megastar Lawrence.
“Once a year I go away with all my girlfriends from high school,” Schumer explains. “We went to the Hamptons because they wouldn’t let us go back to Martha’s Vineyard. No one would rent us a house because they’ve heard about us.”
Schumer says they were planning a boat trip and she invited Lawrence. To her surprise, Lawrence accepted. They also ended up riding Jet Skis. Schumer documented the weekend on Instagram. Scroll down to view the photos and to watch the full Daily Show interview.
