Joy Behar Returns to 'The View' for Season 19
Sag Harbor’s Joy Behar, an original co-host of The View, will return to the daytime talkshow in the upcoming 19th season, ABC announced today.
Behar’s first run was from 1997 to 2013. She did appear as a guest panelist a number of times in 2014 and 2015, but her official, full-time return is set for the season premiere on Tuesday, September 8.
“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in,” Behar said. “Plus, Steve was getting tired of applauding every time I gave my opinion. But I’m happy to be back home. And I’m looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary and the Donald are in the spotlight.”
New to the panel are Candace Cameron Bure, of Full House fame, and Paula Faris, an ABC News correspondent and Good Morning America Weekend co-anchor.
Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symoné and Michelle Collins will be back.
“As The View embarks on a remarkable 19th season, I am extremely proud to see the legacy of smart and diverse women engaging in entertaining and thought-provoking conversation continue,” said Southampton’s Barbara Walters, the creator and executive producer.
Padma Lakshmi, Stacy London, Ana Navarro and Molly Sims will be among the new contributors making regular appearances.
In other Behar news, she will perform her one-woman show, Joy Behar: Me, My Mouth & I, at Guild Hall in East Hampton on August 29 and 30.
