Southampton Hospital Palliative Care Program Re-certified

Southampton Hospital’s Palliative Care program, coordinated by Jane Edelman, RN, OCN, CBCN, NC-BC, has been re-certified by The Joint Commission and awarded the commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for demonstrating compliance with the commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety.

Palliative care is a specialized field of medicine for patients with severe illnesses.

“We are gratified to know that our Palliative Care program has met the high standards of service set by The Joint Commission, and knowing that we are providing our patients with the best possible, compassionate care,” Southampton Hospital President Robert Chaloner said.
