Sag Harbor Gym Offers 3 Classes to Support Local Nonprofits
Sag Harbor Gym is hosting a series of three fitness classes to benefit the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation and The Retreat on Saturday, October 24. All community members are welcome to join, members and non-members, and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the two non-profits.
The event kicks off with a one-hour Cycling with John Leonard class, led by Sag Harbor Gym’s Facility Manager and Cycling Program Director, from 9:30–10:30 a.m. Body Pump with Jacqui Perrine and Liza Gallia will follow from 10:30–11:30 a.m., and Zumba, led by Master Fitness Instructor Oscar Gonzalez, will conclude the charity classes from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
One class can be enjoyed for a $25 donation, two classes for $40 or three classes for $60.
The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, which was formed in 2010 to provide for the welfare of animals and reduce the number of homeless pets in the Town of Southampton, will have dogs and cats on premises available for adoption. They welcomes anyone interested in finding out about adoption or fostering to stop by and say hello. The Retreat, which has been providing free domestic violence services and education to local families since 1987, will also be on hand collecting Purple Purse donations in conjunction with The Allstate Foundation’s challenge grant to bring awareness to financial abuse. The event will also feature a series of raffles to benefit the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation and The Retreat with an array of items donated by local vendors.
For those interested in these local non-profits but less inclined to take a class, all are welcome to visit during the event and learn more about these valuable community resources and tour the recently renovated Sag Harbor Gym, featuring the newest in weight training and cardio equipment, as well as a wide range of group exercise and cycling classes, full service locker rooms and saunas.
