Search for Missing Sagaponack Woman Lilia Aucapina Enters 10th Day
Southampton Town Police continue to search for Lilia “Esperanza” Aucapina, reported missing since October 10.
Aucapina, of 517 Toppings Path, Sagaponack was last seen about 9 a.m. that day in the Town of East Hampton near 398 Montauk Highway where East Hampton Town Police responded to a disturbance. She was reported missing 12 hours later.
Southampton Town Police have conducted several daily searches and are working with the family to attempt to locate Aucapina . Search efforts have included the use of Southampton Town and East Hampton Town patrol officers and detectives, Quogue Village Police, Suffolk County Police Aviation and K-9 divisions, New York State Police and K-9 Divisions, Suffolk County Sheriff’s K-9, and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and New York State Forestry officers.
“Esperanza,” who earns a living cleaning houses, is 5 feet and 3 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair.
Southampton Town Police are asking members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to locating Aucapina by calling detectives at 631-728-3400.
