'Linda McCartney Mary McCartney: Mother Daughter' Opens at Gagosian Gallery

Amagansett’s Sir Paul McCartney on Friday attended the opening reception of Linda McCartney Mary McCartney: Mother Daughter at Madison Avenue’s Gagosian Gallery, an exhibition featuring the photographs of his late wife, Linda McCartney, and his daughter Mary McCartney.

According to the gallery, the exhibition explores “the connective tissue of family, common experience, and a love of the photographic medium. Their images are highly instinctual, rather than analytical; as well they reveal a great ability to capture fleeting moments of intimacy.”

Mary McCartney wrote, “My mother shaped my view of the world and inspired me to embrace spontaneity and capture the unforced. To show with her is such an honor for me and validates my journey as a photographer.”

Among the attendees were actress Drew Barrymore, director Woody Allen and wife Soon-Yi Previn, John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono and Fox 5 news anchor Rosanna Scotto.

Linda McCartney Mary McCartney: Mother Daughter will remain on view through December 19.
