'It's a Wonderful Life' Live Radio Play Coming to Riverhead
East End public radio station WPPB 88.3 FM and Suffolk Theater will present It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play for a one-night-only performance on Sunday.
Written by Joe Landry, the staged radio drama is an adaptation of Frank Capra’s classic film starring Jimmy Stewart, in which a down-and-out George Bailey contemplates taking his life. An angel, Clarence, is tasked with showing George that his life has been a gift. The audience gets a look inside a radio studio as a cast of 1940s voice actors puts on a Christmas Eve live broadcast.
The cast includes Bill Baker, Gene Casey, Cate Clifford, Cindy Clifford, Thom D’Angelo, Rob Florio, Ed German, Kristin Guldi, Michael Horn, Joe Lauro, Matt Senese, Amie Sponza and Lauren Ware.
WPPB personality Bonnie Grice directs. Production support is provided by Anthony Cappa and Barbara Jo Howard.
The performance will be recorded for broadcast on 88.3 FM on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play will be staged Sunday, December 20, at 6 p.m. Regular admission is $15. VIP admission is $30.
