Southampton Polar Bear Plunge Is Saturday at Coopers Beach
The Human Resources of the Hamptons’ annual Polar Bear Plunge for Hunger dives into the ocean at Coopers Beach in Southampton Village on Saturday, December 12.
There will be a walk at 9 a.m., and the plunge is at 10 a.m. Walkers should arrive by 8:30 a.m. and plungers should arrive by 9:30 a.m. to register.
Each participant must donate or raise at least $25. Proceeds will benefit the food pantry at Human Resources of the Hamptons. Participants will each receive a Polar Bear Plunge hat.
Costumes are encouraged.
While plungers are encouraged to do their own fundraising, a number of individuals are already sponsored by their companies or anonymous donors. These include volunteer firefighters, ambulance volunteers, Southampton elected officials, Southampton Village employees, Wright & Co. Construction employees and families, local school district employees and Masonic Old Town Lodge 908 members.
Plungers may download registration and donor forms at hrhamptons.org.
