Brooke Shields Stars in 'Flower Shop Mystery: Mum's the Word'
Southampton model, author and actress Brooke Shields stopped by the Today show last week to talk about Flower Shop Mystery: Mum’s the Word, her upcoming movie on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
In the film, Shields stars as Abby Knight, a newly widowed lawyer-turned-florist, who ends up playing detective when her quiet community is plagued by a series of sinister events. While mourning her husband’s death and starting over with the support of her father, played by Beau Bridges, in the small town of New Chapel, Abby manages the ups and downs of her new business and the difficulty of seeing her daughter off to college.
Things begin to darken when a black SUV smashes into her prized vintage car and Abby decides she must track down the driver. Of course, her new neighbor happens to be “handsome and charming” ex-Marine Marco Salvare, played by Brennan Elliott, and he persists until she accepts his help in the matter. Marco, by the way, has just bought a bar down the street.
Before long a romance blossoms (surprise!) between them, but things get even darker in New Chapel when an acquaintance is murdered and Abby’s best friend is named as the prime suspect. All of this causes problems between Abby and Marco, and Abby soon learns that all of these events lead back to (surprise!) the hit and run.
Now Abby finds herself in a mess of menacing phone calls, corrupt police and murderous road rage, forcing her to find the killer or, as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries explains…”the next flower arrangement might be for her own funeral.”
Flower Shop Mystery: Mum’s the Word airs on Thursday, February 25 at 9 p.m. on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Will it be the first of a series?
