Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber Announce New Projects
Amagansett husband-and-wife duo Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have exciting new projects in the works. Watts will star in Netflix’s Gypsy, a thriller series about therapist Jean Holloway, who begins to get involved with the people in her patients’ lives. Schreiber will star in the new Broadway production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
Watts is known mostly for her film roles; she garnered huge praise for her turn in David Lynch’s Mulholland Dr. in 2001 and has starred in high-profile films like Peter Jackson’s King Kong; David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises; Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar; Gus Van Sant’s The Sea of Trees; and many others. Watts will star in Farren Blackburn’s psychological thriller Shut In in September, Colin Trevorrow’s The Book of Henry and Philippe Falardeau’s The Bleeder, which also stars Schreiber.
The two also appeared together in Peter Farrelly’s Movie 43.
Schreiber currently stars as the title character in the Showtime series Ray Donovan. Les Liaisons Dangereuses is his first Broadway show since 2010’s revival of A View from the Bridge. Other Broadway credits include Talk Radio, Glengarry Glen Ross (for which he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor) and Betrayal. He has also performed in various Shakespeare plays, including Macbeth, Henry V, Othello, Hamlet and The Tempest. Schreiber directed the 2005 film Everything Is Illuminated.
Often seen out and about in the Hamptons, Watts and Schreiber have been married since 2005 and have two children. Though Watts and Schreiber are longtime East Enders, they’re currently selling their Amagansett home at an asking price of $5.85 million.
Les Liaisons Dangereuses begins its 15-week engagement on October 8. Gypsy debuts in 2017.
