Showtime Source Reveals 'The Affair' Season 3 Spoilers

After several clandestine meetings with an anonymous source at Showtime, and an extensive vetting process to prove the veracity of the source’s information, Dan’s Papers has learned some major spoilers for the upcoming third season of the Showtime’s Montauk-set drama series The Affair. We’ve gathered the juiciest bits to whet your appetite for the lust-driven show.
MASSIVE spoiler alert here—consider yourself warned.

Noah: The love-to-hate semi-protagonist will find himself in a precarious new situation when he lands in prison after confessing to the murder of Scotty Lockhart. Noah will have to face life behind bars, and learn to adapt if he wants to survive. Continuing with the “affair” theme, Noah will enter into an uneasy relationship with a fellow prisoner who promises him safety…in exchange for Noah’s “loyalty.” Will this shocking deal turn into more for Noah, who never passes up a chance for sex? And why is his troubled daughter Whitney visiting so often? The answer involves a prison guard, a baton and blackmail. That’s all we’ll say.

Allison & Helen: In the aftermath of Noah’s false confession, the two women in his life decide to go with it and run the Lobster Roll together. An unlikely friendship forms between the two, but Helen’s daughter Whitney doesn’t trust Allison and starts scheming against her…with creepy former Lobster Roll owner, Oscar Hodges! The gruesome twosome will attempt to gaslight (mess with someone until they question their sanity) Helen and turn her against Allison. The season finale will deliver a scene involving sausage links and Canadian bacon that’s so unsettling Showtime may not even air it.

Cole: Cole is the center of the season’s new mystery. When last we saw him, Cole was marrying new love Luisa and looking forward to their life together. But this year, Cole is being detained by the FBI and demands to know where his wife is. In flashbacks, we’ll see what happened leading up to Cole’s detainment, if Luisa is alive or dead, and why Whitney is the only one he trusts.

Whitney: If you haven’t picked up on it, this unstable young woman is going to be all over the place this season. The audience will see what really happened the night Scotty died—no, we haven’t seen it all—and show how everything from the beginning all ties back to Whitney: the marble at the diner, Noah meeting Allison, Helen’s marijuana habit, Scotty’s death and, finally, Noah’s confession. But will this Machiavellian brat’s plans come to fruition, or will someone (Luisa, perhaps?) be able to stop her? And did she plan that horrendously disturbing, lesbian-hot-tub-sex-with-dad moment? How screwed up is she, really?
Oh, and by the way… APRIL FOOLS!
