20 Things to Do in the Hamptons Before Memorial Day: Relax at a Coffee Shop
Memorial Day (Monday, May 30) and the official start of the East End’s busy summer season is around the corner, so now’s the time to take advantage of all the special things that will be nonexistent or difficult to enjoy in the Hamptons once the crowds arrive from points west.
We continue our countdown of 20 things to do before Memorial Day in the Hamptons with:
#10: Relax at a Coffee Shop
Let’s face it—chilling out at a coffee shop becomes difficult-to-impossible during the summer. Whether it’s at a big business like Starbucks or a locally-owned shop, groups are piling in for their iced coffee or frozen frappe, the bathroom line is out the door, the baristas are frenzied and the seats are all filled. And that’s great! We love to see Hamptons businesses thrive during the summer.
But we also like to sit and relax with a cup of coffee. So make the most of the next week: bring a book, order your favorite drink and stay awhile at one of the Hamptons’ many coffee shops. It’s incredibly relaxing to have a nice cup of coffee (especially local, artisanal coffee!) while taking a break from your busy day. We also recommend indulging in a sweet treat or two—did that scone just call your name? Coffee shops are also ideal for first dates, job interviews (we’ve seen it happen) and other interpersonal activities. Just be cool and don’t be that person who talks on their phone for the whole place to hear.
Here’s a quick list of some coffee shops you can hit up. Enjoy!
