Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Open NYC Store

East End regulars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have opened a store in Manhattan. The twins, known for their popular elegant and simple fashion line The Row, have a Los Angeles location and will consider the NYC shop its second flagship store. The Row opens with the sisters’ highly anticipated Pre-Fall 2016 collection.

The Olsens want to make the store itself an experience. Speaking to Vogue.com, Ashley said, “In Los Angeles, it’s all about mid-century homes and growing up, it was glass and water and trees. Having lived in New York now for 12 years, we wanted the store to very much feel like a home—that’s sort of the dream of here: a brownstone in New York.”

The sisters created The Row fashion label in 2006 and didn’t use their considerable fame when promoting it, wanting the work to speak for itself. They were also not involved in Netflix’s Fuller House, the sequel to Full House, the sitcom they grew up starring in. Mary-Kate and Ashley’s younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen, is also an actress and has garnered much praise for her roles in Martha Marcy May Marlene, Silent House, I Saw the Light and Kill Your Darlings, among others. Most know her from Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.

Last but not least, Mary-Kate dropped an interesting tidbit to Vogue, which might surprise you: “I’ve never purchased anything online.” A 20-something who’s never purchased anything on the web? That’s certainly in line with the unique lifestyle the women lead. The cosmic mystery of the Olsen twins grows ever deeper.
