Anderson Cooper Interested in Co-Hosting Live! with Kelly Ripa
East Ender Anderson Cooper is interested in being fellow Hamptonite Kelly Ripa’s co-host on Live! according to a report by Entertainment Tonight.
The CNN anchor, who hosts Anderson Cooper 360 weeknights, has reportedly expressed interest to ABC about taking over the co-hosting role previously filled by Michael Strahan, who left to work on Good Morning America. But interest or not, CNN and ABC aren’t sure it’s a good idea. CNN apparently wants Cooper to be “all in” for the 2016 election, while ABC is concerned that he wouldn’t be a good choice because he previously had a daytime talk show, Anderson, that only lasted two seasons. Cooper was a guest co-host on Live! on Wednesday, and it’s clear when watching that he and Ripa would work well together.
During an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live in April, Cooper commented on being a possible replacement for Strahan. “Look, I’m very happy at CNN. It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody’s offering anything.”
