Bethenny Frankel Reveals Longterm Health Scare
Hamptonite Bethenny Frankel has opened up about the mystery health problem she’s been going through. Frankel, whose discomfort was becoming so extreme that it will be featured on The Real Housewives of New York City despite her attempts to keep it private, disclosed that she is suffering from uterine fibroids.
The 45-year-old Frankel was diagnosed with uterine fibroids in 2013 and apparently created a living will with daughter Bryn, 6 years old, as her beneficiary. She also attributes the condition to a miscarriage she had in 2012 after being pregnant eight weeks. The condition, which causes fatigue, anemia, pain and bleeding, eventually forced Frankel to undergo surgery to remove the fibroids, some of which were apparently the size of a softball!
Frankel told People.com, “No one really talks about [uterine fibroids]. I didn’t realize how many people have them. It’s still something women don’t share.” The issue will be addressed in an upcoming episode of Real Housewives.
In slightly less serious news, Sonja Morgan—who has been embroiled in a feud with Frankel over the similarity between their two companies’ names, Tipsy Girl and Skinnygirl—has reportedly gone forward with plans to open a Tipsy Girl restaurant. Page Six reports that the restaurant could open as soon as July on Eighth Street in Manhattan.
Morgan appeared to be shocked that Frankel didn’t appreciate the name “Tipsy Girl” for her prosecco venture, since Frankel has had immense success with her Skinnygirl line of cocktails. There’s no word on what kind of fare the new Tipsy Girl restaurant will serve, but we’re guessing Frankel’s Skinnygirl drinks won’t be on the menu…
