Disney's 'The BFG' Revealed in New Trailer
The new trailer for East Hampton director Steven Spielberg‘s new Disney film, The BFG, opening July 1, reveals the face of Roald Dahl’s famous big friendly giant.
Past trailers for the hotly anticipated film kept the titular giant (played by Academy Award-winner Mark Rylance) in shadow, but now, just days before the film hits theaters nationwide, we can see him in his full, sunlit glory.
Bringing together the storytelling genius of Spielberg, Disney and Dahl, The BFG tells the tale of 10-year-old Sophie, played by 10-year-old Ruby Barnhill, and the gentle Big Friendly Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. The 24-foot-tall BFG is kind, while other inhabitants of Giant Country, like Bloodbottler (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement), are twice as big, much more scary and known to eat humans. Together, Sophie and the BFG come up with a plan to get rid of the evil giants once and for all.
The film is getting excellent reviews for both its brilliant visual effects, excellent performances and heartwarming script. Watch the new trailer below and see The BFG this weekend!
